NWTF Bland County Many Beards Chapter and VDGIF have teamed up to offer a Women in the Outdoors day at Camp Roland in Bastian, VA. If you are interested in learning new outdoor skills, meeting others with similar interests and spending time with friends and family, then this event is for you! Some of the 2 hour classes offered include: Outdoor Cooking, Archery, Outdoor Photography, Stream Fihsing, Rifle & Pistol to name a few. Please look at the attached brochure for more information and registration forms. This workshop is designed for women 14 years of age and older. Back by Popular demand! This educational workshop is designed for individuals who are interested in learning about fishing for flathead catfish. Workshops are designed for adults 18 years and over. Participants will wade for big flathead catfish with professional guide and instructor Mike Ostrander from the James River Fishing School. Participants are required to have a current Virginia freshwater fishing license. Lunch and tackle will be provided. Workshop fee is $35. Please Register by July 15th for the August 5th workshop. This event is hosted by the Page Valley Sportsmen's Club, Inc and the NWTF Skyline Strutters Chapter for youth 8-17 years of age. Adults are encouraged to attend with their children. Sessions will be offered in shotgun, air rifle, small bore rifle, archery and muzzleloading. Non- shooting sessions will also be offered. This event is offered at no charge. Lunch will be provided. Eastern Shore Birding and Wildlife Festival

The 2008 Hunting and Fishing Expo is a family-friendly event held at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in recognition of National Hunting and Fishing Day. The purpose is to provide: 1. Shenandoah Valley Audubon Birding Festival

Shenandoah Audubon's Annual Birding Festival will be on Nov 1st of this year. Join us from 10 am until 4 pm in the War Memorial building in Winchester. There will be demonstrations with live birds and talks about how to identify birds at this annual event. Scouts can earn merit badges. There will be experts available to answer all your birding questions. Basic birding and bird walks will be offered. Bird books and crafts will be for sale. Top quality bird seed also will be available for purchase. Submit a bird related photo by Oct. 1st and you may win a pair of binoculars (see Web page)!
